Cpt. Cyp Downer led an Alarm Co. in Col. Herrick's Reg't of Militia while in service October,1780. His days of service were 18 and his miles traveled were 110. Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 J. E. Goodrich 1904 pg. (240)

Captain Cyprian Downer's Company, Shaftsbury, 1781 is on a Pay Roll for going to Saratoga on an Expedition. He lead his group of men for two days and traveled 30 miles. Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 J. E. Goodrich 1904 pg. (431)
