revolutionary war flagJames Clark is on a Pay Roll of Capt. Josiah Boyden's Company in Col. William William's Regiment of Militia in the service of the United States on an expedition to Bennington, & c, in 1777. He entered the service on Sept. 24 and was discharged Oct. 20, 1777. He was in service 26 days. State of Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 J. E. Goodrich 1904 pg. (38)

James Clark is on the Pay Roll of Capt. Stephen Calkin's Company of Militia is an alarm in March 1780 by order of Col. Eben Allen, in the county of Rutland. He service started March 26 and lasted 6 days. He traveled 70 miles. State of Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 J. E. Goodrich 1904 pg. (163)
