This survey seeks to establish which areas of town are still under-served for Internet and cell coverage. We most want to hear from folks who can’t get Internet service at home. If you have friends, family, neighbors who cannot get to the survey, please fill it out for them.
If you are unable to do the survey online call or email
and leave a message with contact info. Someone will get back to you to collect your information.
If you know someone who cannot do the survey, please fill it out for them.
Why are we doing this?
The lack of Internet and cell coverage is holding back our rural economy. We know individuals who want Internet but can’t get it, but we don’t have hard data on the true size of the problem in Shaftsbury. Armed with the data from this survey we will be in a position to seek solutions. For example, the US Department of Agriculture recently announced a sizable grant program to help rural community extend lines from commercial service providers like Comcast to hard to reach rural areas. In order to seek such grants we have to know where service is needed.
