John Huling is on a Pay Roll of Capt. Thomas Sawyer's Company of Militia, raised for the defense of the Northern Frontiers of the United States, June 29, 1779. His service started June 20, 1777 with a discharge date of Aug. 20, 1777. He was in service one month and two days and traveled out 30 miles. Jno. Huling's name is on a True List of (the names and sums of) Capt. John Stark's Company's Pay Roll of services in the State of Vermont, from the beginning of the campaign 1781 to the 30th of June in said year, inclusive, taken from the original in the Paymaster's Office.

He is also on a Pay Roll of Capt. John Stark's Company in the Battalion commanded by Col. Samuel Fletcher, in the service of the State of Vermont-1781. This service started July 1, 1781 and ended Nov. 22, 1781 for a total of 142 days.
