There were four Matteson brothers from Shaftsbury who were Green Mountain Boys. They were: Capt. Peleg Matteson, Capt. Peter Matteson, Capt. Phillip Matteson (buried in Buffalo, NY) and Benjamin Matteson (buried in Manchester Center, VT)
Peter Matteson served with Captain Jonas Galusha's Company in Col. Herrick's Regiment for service done in the alarm in April,1780.
