Prosper served as a private in the Connecticut State Troops during the Revolutionary War. There are no records indicating he was a Green Mountain Boy in Vermont, but he is buried in the family plot with his brother, Nathan, who was on a Green Mountain Boy. State of Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883, (J.E. Goodrich 1904) pg. 240
