Samuel House's name appears on a Pay Roll of Capt. Cyperan Downer's Alarm Co. in Col. Herrick's Reg't of Militia while in service October, 1780. His days of service were 11 and his miles traveled were 55. He was paid 1 pound 12 shillings and 10 pence. Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 (J. E. Goodrich 1904) pg. 240
