Stephen Dwinell's name appears on a Pay Roll of Capt. Cyprean Downer's Alarm Co. in Col. Herrick's Reg't of Militia while in service October, 1780. His days of service were 17 and his miles traveled were 85. He was paid 2 pounds 11 shillings and 4 pence. Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 (J. E. Goodrich 1904) pg. 240
