He served for 1 month, 6 days. His pay was 2 pound.13. shillings. 0 pence. State of Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883, (J.E. Goodrich 1904) pg. 124.

Samuel Matteson appears on the pay Roll of Capt. William Dyre's Company in the service of the State of Vermont, from Oct. 12th to the 6th day of Nov. 1780. He was in service 25 days and his pay was 1 pound.12 shillings. 4 pence State of Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883, (J.E. Goodrich 1904) pg. 253.

Samuel Matteson was with Capt. Cyprian Downer's Company, Shaftsbury, 1781, Pay Roll for going to Saratoga on an Expedition. He was gone two days and traveled 30 miles in two days and traveled 30 miles. State of Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 J. E. Goodrich 1904 pg. 431)

Samuel Mattison is on a Pay Roll of Capt. Downer's Company of Militia in Col. Ebenezer Walbridge's Regiment, called to Castleton by reason of Alarm in the month of October, 1781.
