Benjamin Dutcher was a private in Van Schaicks Battalion NY, under Capt. Robert Edmonston's Co. in Col. Van Schaicks Battalion of forces raised in the State of New Work, enlisted April 1, 1776, deserted June 27th 1776.Benjamin Dutcher's name does not appear in Vermont Rolls in the Revolutionary War 1775-1883 (J. E. Goodrich 1904). He was a patriot who served in the state of New York.
