Important Tax Information - Billing Error

Property Taxes are Due on November 10th, 2025. The due date may have been incorrect on some tax bills. The Treasurer will be sending out a corrected tax bill in early October.

If you have paid your taxes already or you wish to save the town the cost of this extra mailing, please email the Treasurer at treasurer@shaftsburyvt.gov and she will not send an updated bill. We apologize for this error, but the Taxes are due on November 10, 2025 by 5:00pm as voted on and approved at Town Meeting.

10/15/2025 - Final Date to File HS-122 Homestead Declaration:
Check your tax bill now to make sure you are paying the correct tax rate. Any changes made after the deadline will not be to your advantage.
