Important Water Rate Correction

The Town of Shaftsbury Water Department would like to apologize for an error in the recent rate increase mailer sent to our water customers. The mailer incorrectly indicated the billing period for ERUs. rate increase correction**ERUs (Equivalent Residential Units) are billed yearly, not quarterly.**
For clarification, the correct rates are:

1 ERU = $235.00 per year
1 ERU = $58.76 per quarter
1,000 gallons of water = $19.50 per quarter

We sincerely apologize for the confusion this error may have caused. We wanted to correct the information as quickly as possible so our water customers have an accurate understanding of the new rates.
